Communications for Remote & Extreme Environments
NSTI has extensive work experience in the harshest environments on earth. Our systems are designed and built to withstand the elements of the frozen Arctic, open ocean or high mountaintops. Project success under these conditions also requires a special group of people. When you partner with NSTI, we provide expert teams that go beyond technical skill. We work safely and efficiently in isolated regions and under extreme environmental conditions. Our staff can help you solve challenging logistics problems and identify limiting factors before they impact your budget or schedule.
Rapid Emergency Communications Deployment
Whether it’s an oil spill, hurricane or earthquake, operational communications in any disaster are key to a swift and efficient response. NSTI provided the communications infrastructure in Alaska’s Prince William Sound during the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill to enable the coordination of thousands of workers. Since then we have engineered and implemented wide-area spill response communication systems for all major Alaska spill response cooperatives. These include Alyeska Pipeline Company’s Ship Escort/Response Vessel System, Cook Inlet Spill Prevention & Response Inc., Alaska Clean Seas and the Southeast Alaska Petroleum Resource Organization.
NSTI also played a major role in implementing the Alaska Land Mobile Radio System, which provides state-of-the-art interoperability for first responders and emergency management across state, federal and local jurisdictions. During the 2005 Hurricane Katrina and 2010 Deep Water Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, NSTI immediately provided communications in support of the recovery and cleanup efforts. Our most popular product for rapid communications deployment is the Gapfiller, a self-contained mobile repeater system with remote power that can be set up with minimal resources in less than 30 minutes.
NSTI is your best source for professional and commercial radio products made by Motorola. We offer the complete product line of digital (MotoTRBO) and analog (e.g. HT or CDM series) business band radio equipment, such as repeaters, base stations, mobile and portable radios or pagers. Our staff will help you select the best solution for your needs – from a single handheld device to an entire multi-site repeater system. All products are fully compliant with the 2013 FCC narrowband mandate. We’ll gladly assist you with FCC licensing or any other questions. Contact us for consultation or pricing information.
